The ancient four-pillar and eight-character numerology classic Ziping is the earliest extant four-pillar and eight-character numerology work. It can be called the pioneering work of four-pillar and eight-character numerology. It is also known as "Yuzhao Ding Zhen Jing" and "Yu Zhao Shen Ying Ding Zhen Jing".
Xu Sheng, a master of numerology in the Song Dynasty, completed it on the basis of Guo Pu in the Jin Dynasty. It was listed in the arithmetic category by the "Yongle Dadian" of the Ming Dynasty and the "Sikuquanshu" of the Qing Dynasty, and has extremely high academic value and historical status.
"Sikuquanshu" believes that "the good and bad things mentioned in this book come true, are close to the truth, and there are many things to be adopted." Compared with later four-pillar numerology works, the method of fortune-telling described in the Yuzhaoding Zhenjing is simpler and more concise. The book mainly uses the restraint of the five elements to make judgments. It is a clear, simple and easy-to-understand four-pillar numerology work.
