Reborn as Wei Wuxian: A Chapter That Rewrite Fate

The temple door stood half-open, letting in a strip of dim yellow light. Wei Wuxian jolted awake on the straw mat, gasping for breath. His small body trembled uncontrollably with fear and exhaustion. The terror in his heart began to ease, but the sight of his shijie lying in his arms surfaced once more, and tears spilled from his eyes before he could stop them. He lay on the hard floor beside a tattered quilt. Looking around, he saw only mottled walls and a leaking roof, with dust and cobwebs gathered in the corners. His heart lurched. Where was he? Why was he here?

He tried to remember, and memories of his past life flooded into his mind. The leap from the cliffs at Nevernight City, the despair of that instant, all seemed to have happened only yesterday. Confused, he wondered why he had been reborn. Had fate given him another chance to start over? Or was some unknown force controlling him? The eerie flute music seemed to linger in his ears. Wei Wuxian furrowed his brow, full of questions. Who was playing it? Friend or foe? He couldn't figure it out, and a chill crept up his spine. His heart was filled with bewilderment and unease.

He tried moving his limbs and was delighted to find his body light and agile, as if time had turned back and he were once more a carefree child. He gently touched his face, feeling the softness and smoothness of his skin, and a rush of joy welled up inside him. At the same time, he realized he had to adapt quickly to the body of a five-year-old boy if he wanted to survive in this world.
