[Purple Veil] The Legend of Sword and Fairy 4: Murong Ziying x Han Lingsha, an expansion of the original setting. The story follows the four as they make their way through the imperial court, alongside Lingsha’s cold ailment.

Murong Ziying, the only son of the Murong family, has been frail since childhood. His father, Murong Bo, can only bear to send the young Ziying away to cultivate at the mysterious and powerful Qionghua Sect. The sect seeks to defy heaven and ascend to immortality, but its ambition ultimately leads to its destruction.

Later, through a twist of fate, Murong Ziying and Han Lingsha return to the Murong residence, which they have not seen in years, posing as husband and wife.

At the time, the world is in turmoil, and undercurrents stir in the imperial court. Through a series of coincidences, Murong Ziying and Han Lingsha, along with their friends Yun Tianhe and Liu Mengli, are swept into the treacherous whirlpool of officialdom.

As newcomers to the political arena, they gradually realize how complicated and dangerous it is through one struggle for power after another. To survive and protect their families, they have no choice but to learn how to navigate officialdom and carefully deal with all kinds of officials. Ziying goes from being straightforward and upright to maneuvering with ease in the political arena, even learning to play along and compromise.

Meanwhile, Han Lingsha’s cold ailment grows increasingly severe. The Wangshu Sword is the source of her suffering. To ease her symptoms, she must make a difficult decision: to cultivate in dual cultivation with the new Host of the Xihe Sword. This decision plunges Han Lingsha into anguish and inner turmoil, and makes her relationship with Ziying even more delicate and complicated.
