[Fictional Dynasty + Ensemble Cast]
In a fictional dynasty beset by changing tides, the regent and the eldest legitimate son of the Grand General Who Guards the Nation are like twin stars, upholding the dynasty's hopes. The regent, the emperor's younger brother, wields great power and possesses a brilliant mind. At court, he turns the tide and quells the hidden currents among rival factions, guiding the dynasty with extraordinary strategies. The eldest legitimate son of the Grand General Who Guards the Nation is every bit his father's child: a valiant warrior who guards the borderlands and keeps foreign enemies from coveting their territory, defending his homeland with his very life.
Their journeys to maturity would not be possible without the help of a host of extraordinary people. The Grand Tutor is usually gentle and patient, offering earnest guidance, but when danger strikes, her gaze sharpens and she becomes stern and composed, imparting all the knowledge she has gathered in her lifetime to nurture pillars of the realm. She defies conventional prejudice, is quick-witted and every bit as capable as any man, and brings new life to the affairs of state with her unique perspective. There is also a compassionate female imperial physician, a gifted doctor who travels between the palace and the common streets, curing the sick and keeping everyone safe.
When internal turmoil and external threats descend all at once, mentors and students, friends and allies, join hands and move forward together. They navigate political schemes, the flames of war, and life-and-death struggles, all to restore the glory of the Wen Dynasty, compose a stirring ode to a flourishing age, and embark on a legendary, blood-pumping journey.
