After I Divorced My Educated Youth Husband and Let Him Return to the City, He Regretted It

When the educated youth returned to the city, I swallowed my sorrow and encouraged Qi Fengyang to go back and pursue his dreams.

Qi Fengyang solemnly promised me, “Yuanyuan, I will never leave you in this lifetime.”

I was so moved that I wept tears of joy.

But when his widowed childhood sweetheart went to the countryside to gather material, the two reunited.

Qi Fengyang was so overwhelmed that he got drunk that very night, clutched his childhood sweetheart, and sobbed:

“ Siyu, why was it her who married me and not you?”

Only then did I learn that he had gone to the countryside because his childhood sweetheart was getting married, and he had left in sorrow.

He had never wanted to return to the city, afraid that the memories would only hurt him.

Later, he used taking me to meet his parents as an excuse, when he really wanted to escort his childhood sweetheart back to the city.

I smiled and agreed, but slipped divorce papers into his luggage and changed trains along the way.

I headed in the opposite direction from him, toward the medical university I had just been accepted to.

From now on, let us never yearn for each other again.
