Uncle, I’ve Decided to Forget You

I was an orphan, and the uncle who lived next door looked after me for ten years. I secretly fell in love with the kind man who had always treated me so gently. On my twenty-first birthday, I gathered my courage and confessed my feelings. To improve my chances, I even changed into a breezy little camisole. But after that, everything changed. The carefully chosen birthday gifts he had given me every year stopped coming. The way he used to shield me in front of others vanished without a trace. The tenderness he had reserved just for me disappeared, too. He even brought his fiancée to meet me and proposed to her in front of me. Heartbroken, I decided to move abroad. I also decided to let go of all my feelings for him.
