The Ordinary Man’s Path to Godhood
In the real world, Lin Fan was an unemployed young man down on his luck, with no improvement in sight, until he unexpectedly got his hands on a virtual-reality game headset called God’s Domain. When he put it on and entered the virtual world that had taken the globe by storm, his life changed beyond recognition.
God’s Domain was a game world full of fantasy and adventure, made up of multiple continents and islands. Every region held endless treasures and powerful monsters. Players had to level up through difficult battles and quests, and leveling was extremely challenging: each new level required the square of the experience points needed for the previous one. The equipment system was remarkably flexible, with four ranks: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Every Epic and Legendary item had unique attributes and skills, and obtaining one was harder than reaching the heavens.
Lin Fan chose the Sword Soul class in the game. Thanks to his calm, decisive nature and exceptional combat talent, he quickly became one of the top players. He not only showed formidable strength in battle, but also became a legendary figure in the game with his witty, easygoing personality and keen business sense. His childhood friend Su Mucheng was a lively, clever Elementalist, and the two stood side by side in the game, facing one challenge after another.
However, the game world was not entirely peaceful…
