After a Blind Date with Lovesick Officer Song, He Kissed Me Until I Cried

[Gentle, well-behaved office worker x aloof, calculating criminal investigation captain] [Sweet romance + Both inexperienced + Happy ending]

Before she turned twenty-seven, Wen Xi had only seen Song Ye three times.

The first time, she was five and he was eight.

She went with her parents to visit someone who was ill.

The second time, she was fourteen and he was seventeen.

At her father’s funeral.

The third time, she was twenty-seven and he was thirty.

She nearly became a victim of a crime and went to the police station to report it. He was the officer who took her report.

When they meet again, Song Ye, a man of many identities, asks her for a favor.

Song Ye: “Help me buy a few sets of bedding!”

Wen Xi: “You need five sets for yourself?”

Song Ye: “Once you have a girlfriend, you need to change the sheets more often.”

-

Later on...

The neighbor across the hall is him.

The blind date arranged by her colleague is him.

An unexpected romance takes her by surprise.

The bedding she picked out herself ends up being used by her!

Song Ye, smug: “See? I planned ahead!”

-

The honeymoon phase.

Because of a mission, Song Ye has no choice but to disappear and head far away.

Wen Xi quits her job, planning to get out and see the world.

After three months of wandering, she finally settles in an old town on the border.

The night is full of uncertainty, danger lurking unseen.

They stand apart amid the bustle of everyday life, beneath the shimmering neon lights of a convenience store.

Their feelings surge, but they hesitate to take a step forward.

In the lonely darkness, someone slips in through a half-open window.

Wen Xi’s heart flutters, words hard to find. “You’re off work?”

Song Ye kisses her gently, his eyes red. “You’ve been naughty, baby. I got off early to kiss you until you cry.”

-

Wen Xi: My life was always even and uneventful, until the wild tides came.
