A note: This story has a romantic pairing. I originally started writing it because of a dream, intending to tell the story of a strong female lead living a brilliant life. But when the supporting character Yu Ze appeared, I suddenly got stuck, and the story veered off course into a romance. If that bothers you, feel free not to open the book. But it isn’t pure romance, either, so if that’s what you’re looking for, think it over before reading.
A love spanning two lifetimes explores the forms marriage can take. There is no conventional marriage here, only the question of how a soul that doesn’t fit into the world can adapt to its worldly ways.
The constraints of convention, and a tentative taste of escaping them. In their first life, will Li Dinding and Yu Ze, two lonely souls who find comfort in each other, ultimately stay together?
In their second life, will Li Yueya and He Wuji find a way to live differently from the conventional married couple?
This is only a rough idea. I’ve never been married, so I can’t write about the nitty-gritty of everyday married life.
