Fake Substitute + Male-Male Romance + Historical + Coercive Love + Happy Ending
A seemingly spoiled but secretly cold, dramatic beauty who can bend without breaking, paired with a dramatic, vengeful man who never forgets a slight
On the winter solstice, beneath a sky filled with fireworks, Shen Huai'an caught sight of a young man who bore a striking resemblance to the beloved he had lost on the battlefield four years earlier.
After threats and tempting offers, Shen Huai'an kept Pei Changyi by his side as a substitute for Xie Qingyan, as if trying to make up for the four years they had spent apart in death.
Shen Huai'an had always known Pei Changyi had ulterior motives for approaching him. But Pei Changyi was useful, so he was happy to play along in their little act of deep devotion.
From the male lead's perspective:
Pei Changyi had deliberately arranged his encounter with Shen Huai'an. He had been plotting it for a long time.
At first, he only meant to use Shen Huai'an to get rid of his enemy. He never expected to fall for him too.
Pei Changyi planned to settle down with Shen Huai'an once he had his revenge. After all, Shen Huai'an liked him so much.
Then one day, he discovered he was nothing but a substitute, and for a dead man, no less.
Pei Changyi: !!! This isn't how the story was supposed to go!
A story about two people using each other
P.S. It's only a fake-substitute story.
