The State of Chu Unifies China

In the chaotic Spring and Autumn era, rites have crumbled and music has fallen into ruin. The feudal lords vie for supremacy, and the Nine Provinces lie divided.

Xiong Lü transmigrates into the body of a ten-year-old prince of the Chu royal house, facing the old ills of the Chu court, the clans' unchecked power, a decaying military system, widespread hardship, and the evil of human sacrifice that has endured for millennia.

For three years, he bides his time and keeps a low profile, secretly seeking the finest crops for generations to come, revising and enforcing strict laws, establishing seven prefectures and eighteen bureaus, and building a royal army of nine divisions. At last, with the force of a thunderbolt, he purges the court and reforms the government of Chu.

At home, he overhauls the laws, encourages farming and sericulture, builds waterworks, and gives the people peace and prosperity. Abroad, he upholds the orthodox legacy of Yan and Huang, preserves the ancestral temples of the sages, unites the Huaxia peoples of the Nine Provinces, and ends wars among kindred states.

After unifying the Nine Provinces, he learns from the rapid fall of mighty Qin. He does not divide the Central Plains, slaughter the royal house, or extinguish its ancestral rites. Instead, he enfeoffs collateral branches of the Chu royal house and descendants of the old Huaxia lords in remote overseas lands, where they open new territories and found states, with a hundred vassal realms protecting the heartland.

Xiong Lü and Fan Yuhua remain devoted to each other, pure in love, one man and one woman for a lifetime. Together they unite the Nine Provinces and safeguard Huaxia.

This is an epic tale of a Chu king who unifies Huaxia, establishes his capital at Luoyang, creates a shield of overseas vassal states, and carries the legacy of Yan and Huang into the future.
