This translation is so good, so comfortable, that I had to give it a try. The first time I read it, I bought the version by David Yu. The translation was not like the one for Chinese people, but it was very confusing. I could understand it sometimes, but I couldn't understand it sometimes, but it still couldn't stop me from appreciating this masterpiece (although it's not a small obstacle). This version is not like that at all, it is extremely comfortable.

The translation of this book is very suitable for the constitution of Chinese readers. It is not very strenuous to read, but more delicate and soft. From the morbid longing for parental care in childhood, to the equal and pure friendship after meeting Katya, and finally to the protection of her adoptive mother, Niedochka has completed a self-growth and transformation from passively longing for the rescue of love to protecting her with love. At first we read about the tugs and twists in her soul, and later on we can see her active choices and directions after having love. Real strength is to take the initiative to love.

He was born tragically, but he met a good man like the Duke.

It is a regrettable work by Tuo Weng, but it is a pity that he was exiled and the book was not completed. Niedochka's personal experience in the story is an bright line of the story, but in the dark, the transformation of Niedochka's personal character (of course, this transformation is not fully reflected in just seven chapters, and even the essence has not changed, which is also a pity) and the silent criticism of the society at that time brought about by the unfortunate family from the female perspective. This kind of structural oppression is reflected in the seven chapters of the full text, which is really profound. Generally speaking, although there are regrets, it is worth reading. Towen's profound thinking and interrogative psychological description are both top-notch.
