The Five Elements Alchemy Furnace

Lin Fan, the son of a medicinal herb farmer in Qingzhu Village, signs a three-year contract as a medicine servant at Piaoyun Valley to save his father, who has been afflicted by pill miasma. He has a “Five-Leak Spirit Root,” and while others discard failed pills, broken medicines, and dregs, a battered little furnace still finds a spark of life within them. But the furnace can separate medicinal properties; it cannot make pill toxins vanish into thin air. With every new black line etched across its base, the black spot on Lin Fan’s wrist creeps closer to his heart. Rising from medicine servant to apprentice alchemist, he must save his father while uncovering why the pill toxins of Piaoyun Valley always flow down into the medicinal fields below the mountain.
