[1v1 + marriage first, love later + a touch of court intrigue | short read | angst, but a happy ending]
Brilliant illegitimate daughter with a gift for medicine × cold, lame fourth prince
Using each other, making each other stronger
Lin Zhizhi, an illegitimate daughter, is forced to take her elder sister’s place and marry Xiao Lianyu, the powerless, crippled fourth prince.
But people are cruel. Even though Lin Zhizhi willingly takes her sister’s place, she still becomes a pawn discarded by the Lin family to win the Crown Prince’s favor.
On her wedding night, she dies.
A wronged soul consumed by obsession cannot enter the cycle of reincarnation.
Moved by compassion, a messenger from the underworld gives Lin Zhizhi another chance at life, so she can avenge herself.
On her path to revenge, she realizes that her husband, whose face is cold and whose heart is colder still, seems to be living on boundless hatred just as she is.
So the two of them become allies, swearing to kill their enemies with their own hands.
Spring turns to autumn, and false affection and true feelings weave together like a spider’s web.
But in the end, neither can escape fate’s deadly trap.
