Strange Tales from Western Hunan

After graduating straight into unemployment, Wang Mubai returns to the mountain city. A chance trip to western Hunan plunges him into one bizarre incident after another: a mysterious person follows him, he barely survives a journey into a cave, a hidden master offers him guidance, a strange book suddenly appears, and he has an exasperating romantic encounter... Spiritual energy has vanished from the modern world, and what little remains is thinly scattered. Yet by a twist of fate, Wang Mubai becomes the disciple of a powerhouse in the Qi Condensation Realm. He also awakens a Wood Spirit Root and reaches the Embryonic Breath Realm, the lowest level of cultivation, where one’s body is only slightly stronger than an ordinary person’s. Through secret wilderness realms and bustling cities, he contends with mysterious factions from all sides, blazing a trail through danger as he grows, slays demons, and banishes ghosts.

Fellow cultivators, in these turbulent times, monsters and demons are everywhere. What could be more exhilarating than joining me to vanquish evil, uphold the righteous path, and roam the world?
