Introduction:
Fourteen-year-old Song Chuyue stepped on the backs of her fathers every step of the way. He stepped out of the smoke-filled mountain village and broke into the neon-dazzling city, trading youth and knowledge in exchange for a foothold. However, when the roar of bulldozers rolled over the fields of his hometown, and when the land guarded by his grandfather was drawn with cold white lines, he was shocked to realize that the upward path came at the cost of cutting off his roots.
This is a long journey of leaving home and returning. When the splendor of the city could not warm the wanderer who had lost his roots, he chose to go against the current and use what he had learned in half his life to rediscover the soon-to-be-lost warm contract between people and their homeland in the land where he was born and raised.
This is my hometown where my heart is at ease.
