A chance encounter + superpowers + villain protagonist + political maneuvering + a ruthless, decisive lead
An ordinary man from Blue Star accidentally awakens an unparalleled superpower. As his strength continues to grow, so does his ambition, and he schemes, step by step, to set off a war among superpowered individuals.
After his wife, Wang Yun, discovers that Zhang Yuntian is the Netherworld King, she repeatedly tries to persuade him not to start a war. She fails to stop him before she dies. Not long after her death, the Netherworld King's power advances yet again, and he accelerates his plans for war. Just then, he meets Feng Xi, the second woman to capture his heart, who nearly leaves him dead and his soul destroyed.
This woman, who died more than eight hundred years ago in the history of the Dragon Kingdom, arrives with six Saint-level superpowered individuals to invite the Netherworld King to join their Six Demons. She also tells him about Blue Star's two great factions: the Seven Groups and the Six Demons. With no other choice, the Netherworld King gives in.
Shen Lingfeng, leader of Blue Star's Seven Groups, senses the unexpected emergence of the Netherworld King and swiftly rallies the Seven Groups for a decisive battle. In the battle, the Netherworld King is ultimately no match for Shen Lingfeng, so he uses his regeneration ability to fake his death and escape. After lying low for eight hundred years, he reemerges and defeats Shen Lingfeng, then secretly rules Blue Star alongside Feng Xi.
After learning from Feng Xi about other star systems, he grows restless and eager for action. The two join forces, but an unexpected turn of events soon sends them their separate ways.
The Netherworld King unexpectedly learns a secret that can boost his power and help him break through his limits. His third beloved, Bi Luo, confirms the truth of it.
Working together with his sworn brother Minghe, he finally succeeds in opening the Gate of Space. The Netherworld King then disappears, and Minghe also goes missing not long after their final battle. Will the two brothers return to make their comeback? Only time will tell...
