The He Family of Hedong

Of course I knew. Though that wind and rain had nothing to do with me, it still soaked my life. Life isn’t a movie, and I was short on luck, too. My name is Wang Qinghe. I was once a stubborn boy at the top of my class, but after a series of setbacks, my fate... I poured my heart into the mountains and rivers of Hedong... The road twisted around the hills... More than thirty years later, as a drone camera swept over hillsides blanketed with fruit blossoms and chrysanthemums, and lotus flowers blooming across ten thousand mu of ponds, I stood at the entrance to Yaohe Village, gazing into the distance... In truth, most people are like me. We journey through mountains and seas, laugh and cry, and hold on to our dreams and hopes. Those magnificent landscapes and ancient cultures have long since become part of our lives. Reform and opening up... China's countryside... the epic of our lives... When a breeze skims the folds of the Loess Plateau, the apple orchards of Hedong and its vast lotus ponds turn green with new growth. Pure white lotus roots sleep quietly in the sunlight like newborn babies, fresh and lovely... Beautiful mountains and rivers, picture-perfect scenery, deep affection and warmth: the people of Hedong! Our story goes on... Clever you, tell me: what traces have we all left for the future? When we open our eyes again, may we see the sun once more!
