The richest man raises his son poor. China's richest man builds the country's poorest village to raise his son, but the boy is unexpectedly chosen to appear on the reality show Metamorphosis and brought to the city. Lin Yichen had been looking forward to the city's prosperity, but once there, he discovers that even a five-star chef's food isn't as good as his family's cooking, and that he learned everything in the lessons back in third grade... The only thing that interests him is how many more ways there are to make money in the city.

Viewers: "You say a five-star chef isn't as good as your grandma? A famous teacher isn't as good as your grandpa? An English teacher isn't as good as the village peddler? Even the school's sports champion isn't as good as the old man at the village entrance? Are you going to die if you stop bragging?"

When the cameras visit the village, the viewers are all stunned. "You were actually telling the truth!"

No one knows that this is only the beginning. On camera, Lin Yichen starts selling toys and investing in shops... When Metamorphosis ends, everyone is astonished to discover that he has become the richest man in the world.
