When Autumn Comes on the Eighth Day of the Ninth Month, Golden Armor Will Fill the City

In his previous life, the emperor grew wary of the great general's overwhelming influence. When the general wiped out the Northern Liao forces at Woniu Mountain, the emperor issued an imperial decree summoning him to the capital to be made a prince. But on the second day after he returned, his entire family was thrown into prison. An informant in the army obtained letters from the people of Northern Liao, showing that the general had been corresponding with their ruler. The entire General's Manor was executed for treason. No one escaped. Even the general's pregnant wife was killed, her unborn child cut from her womb. The child was then hung at the entrance to the palace hall, exposed to the wind and sun day after day. The general himself was sentenced to be torn apart by five horses. Thus, the renowned Protector-General Yuwen Tuo and his entire family were wiped out. The Protector Army was killed, scattered, or left wounded; the strongest army in the realm was utterly destroyed. The name Yuwen Tuo became taboo at court. Then a flash of golden light, and Yuwen Tuo was back before the decisive battle. Having been given another life, he would change this ending at all costs. You vile emperor, wait for me in the capital. When autumn comes on the eighth day of the ninth month, my blossoms will bloom and all others will die. Their fragrance will fill Chang'an, and the whole city will be clad in golden armor.
