A new deskmate arrived today. He was aloof, cocky, and shameless. He also couldn’t stand her. Of course, she couldn’t stand him either. “Hmph! Just because he’s handsome, does he get to have a bad attitude? So annoying!”
Zhou Jiajia was always fuming.
Until the day she spotted a pair of fluffy ears on her new deskmate.
Ever since she discovered that Ming Yun was a fox, Zhou Jiajia kept pestering him with strange questions. For example:
Talking about hair color
Zhou Jiajia stared at Ming Yun’s hair, puzzled.
“Hey, Ming Yun, you’re a white fox. Why is your hair black? Shouldn’t it be the same color as your fur?”
“...The school doesn’t allow white hair,” Ming Yun replied helplessly.
As soon as he finished, Zhou Jiajia said, “That’s ridiculous. It’s not like people are allowed to become spirits after the founding of the country.”
Zhou Jiajia was still muttering, “Come to think of it, immortals have to study and take the college entrance exam too? That sounds so miserable.”
Silent, he lowered his gaze to the chattering girl in front of him and remembered how, as a child, she used to ask all sorts of silly questions. Then she disappeared. When they met again, she had completely forgotten the little village and their promise.
Still as silly as ever, coming to find you!
Fairy tales are warm and sweet, and so is this story.
It's a very emotional book, but I think it's a little short. I want to read about the male and female protagonists later.
