When "YOU DIED" on the screen disappeared like an epitaph, Lin Mo, a middle school student who had stayed up late for a long time, did not usher in the dawn he was looking forward to. Instead, he woke up in the cold sea water and stepped into the cruel reality called "The Junction." There is no chance of reloading here, and every death is accompanied by the real pain of soul tearing. He is no longer a player in front of the screen, but the most vulnerable, fearful and out of place "Faded One" in this land cursed by the Golden Law and ravaged by demigods and monsters.
Instinct drove him to escape, and fear made him tremble. However, the blessing guidance, the contract of the mysterious girl Melina, and the terrifying shadow of the limb-prosthetic king Greg are like invisible chains, dragging him step by step towards the fate he must face. He was forced to pick up weapons, learn to kill, and struggled for the simplest wish - "to survive" in the strong winds of Nimgolf and the shadow of Stonewell City.
But this is not a cool story about a weak person counterattacking and becoming a king. Lin Mo's only advantage may be his eyes that are accustomed to observing and analyzing in front of the screen. He is afraid, but he is also observing in fear; he is escaping, but he is also calculating in evasion. The magician Roger calls him the "Observer", and the witch Rani and the "half-wolf" Blaze also have a strange interest in him. On this journey full of madness, blasphemy and ancient conspiracies, he must use this unique trait to find gaps in desperate situations and survive among powerful enemies.
This is a story about how an ordinary soul, in an extraordinary and cruel world, is forced to examine himself and explore the truth amid the intertwining of blood and tears.

It writes the true characteristics of the Elden Ring. There is no system or messy things. The protagonist can only rely on himself. It perfectly describes the experience of an ordinary person who is lucky enough to travel to the Elden Ring. Why is it said to be good luck? Because if you are unlucky, you will directly fall into a box.
Regardless, this novel has merit. I can once again feel how the gameplay loop lamented the fate of those characters back then.
The protagonist is much better than those entertaining protagonists who act cool.
