Pilgrim Ankh

This is my first time writing a novel, so I will write it slowly, but it will get better and better in the future. The Empire of Man is a huge regime spanning the galaxy, worshiping a god-like being - the Emperor who sits on a golden throne. Even in a technologically advanced future, religion and belief will still be an important part of society. Pilgrims are people who embark on long and dangerous journeys to express their piety, seek salvation, or fulfill religious obligations. They may travel to important holy places, such as Terra (Earth), where the Emperor sleeps, or other planets imbued with sacred meaning. Pilgrim airships are ships specially designed to transport these pilgrims. They are typically old, poorly maintained, and extremely overcrowded starships. Imagine giant slums floating in space, filled with thousands or even hundreds of thousands of pilgrims. These journeys are often long and fraught with danger, not only do you have to face the inherent risks of interstellar voyages, but you also have to be wary of the threats of pirates, aliens, and even warp demons. Pilgrimages have existed since the Emperor was wounded during the Horus Heresy and placed upon the Golden Throne. This has been more than ten thousand years. Throughout the empire's history, countless pilgrims made the journey to the Holy Land. (PS: I am a Cloud Warhammer player and have only read a few Warhammer fan novels. I have never written a novel.
