Xiaren is a history college student who is particularly fascinated by the history of the Ming Dynasty. He often lingered in the ancient books section of the library, studying Ming history without sleep or food. One day, he stumbled upon a worn thread-bound book with yellowed pages and blurred writing. Driven by curiosity, he opened the pages of the book, and a strange force drew him into the book.
When Xiaren opened his eyes again, he found himself in a strange environment. His T-shirt and jeans turned into coarse linen clothes, and he was surrounded by antique buildings. He realized that he had traveled to the Ming Dynasty, and felt excited and uneasy at the same time.
A girl in ancient costume, Ah Yue, appeared and asked about the shrimp situation with concern. Ah Yue is a medical woman. When she saw Xiaren unconscious, she took him back to the hospital to take care of him. Xiaren explained to Ah Yue that he came from the future. Although Ah Yue was dubious, she still took good care of him.
With A Yue's help, Xiaren gradually adapted to ancient life and learned that this was the Yongle period. He recalled that Emperor Yongle Emperor Zhu Di was suspicious in his later years and his physical condition was deteriorating. He came up with the idea of using modern medical knowledge to help Zhu Di, hoping to take this opportunity to learn more about this era.
