Beneath the struggle to escape and survive lie the entanglements of love and hate, and the process of learning to love amid life and death.

“Looks like love doesn’t only make people happy.”

“It can make people sad and hurt, too?”

“No. It helps us grow.”

Growing through love and hate.

Sitting on the rooftop, they gaze into the distance. Far away, the virtual game interface is on the verge of collapsing, slowly turning into pixels before fading away to ash.

“It looks like we’re going to die.”

“Yeah. Does this count as dying for love?”

“…Like hell it does. Run!”

Trigger warnings:

*I’m a shameless blurb fraud. This is my first attempt at an infinite-flow story, and I meant it as a challenge to myself. (The writing is bad, and it gets worse as the story goes on. Clearly, the challenge was a failure.)

*It isn’t scary. I’m a scaredy-cat, so if you can’t handle it, run. The romance is an even bigger mess. The horror elements dwindle as the story goes on, and the tone gets more lighthearted and comedic.

*There’s no logic to speak of. The bottom spends the early part pretending to be scared and asking to be protected, and tells a whole lot of lies. The top has some emotional issues (you could say he doesn’t understand love).

I might leave plot threads unresolved, and there may be errors.
