Passerby A: “Hey, man! What have you been reading lately? Recommend something to me.”
Passerby B: “Oh, I read this tomb-adventure novel. It was hilarious! The main characters are such a bizarre bunch.”
Passerby A: “Really? What makes them so weird? Tell me!”
Passerby B: “There's this guy called Hu Bayi who keeps relying on his half-baked family secrets to drag Fatty and Shirley Yang into ancient tombs. The tomb traps are all kinds of crazy. Once, Fatty set off a trap with one step and a shower of arrows came flying at them. He leaped up and yelled, ‘Oh, my God! Are they trying to turn Fatty into a pincushion?’ Then Hu Bayi dragged him this way and that, dodging like some kind of ritual dancer.”
Passerby A: “Hahaha! What else?”
Passerby B: “They also ran into a zongzi wearing a tattered robe. The thing opened its mouth and wanted to play riddles with them. They couldn't leave unless they got the answer right. Fatty's guesses were completely off the mark. ‘The sun's like a giant fireball. Is the answer a roasted sweet potato?’ he said. Everyone laughed until their stomachs hurt. Even the zongzi was disgusted with him.”
Passerby A: “That's hilarious! Didn't they run into anything dangerous?”
Passerby B: “Plenty! A giant spider chased them. When Fatty couldn't run anymore, he flopped down and yelled, ‘Fatty's done for today! Don't mind me, just run!’ But the spider got dizzy from the stink of his sweat and ran off in the wrong direction. Later, they came across a mysterious stone coffin. When they opened it, a ghost came flying out, only to cough from the stench of Fatty's socks.”
