I Heard My Wife’s Voice in the Public Restroom, So I Calmly Smoked Outside

In the hotel bathroom, I had just closed the stall door when I heard a woman’s voice from the next stall, restrained yet flirtatious: “Honey, someone’s in the next stall!”

I froze on the spot, as if struck by lightning.

That voice was so familiar. I’d been hearing it for seven whole years. There was no way I could mistake it.

It was unmistakably my wife, Qiu Yanxin.

And just a few minutes earlier, Qiu Yanxin had apologized and told me she had to work late at the office that night and couldn’t come to my promotion dinner.
