On New Year's Eve, Mom Made the Whole Family Go Hungry

My second uncle’s family, who had bought a house in the city, came back to their hometown for the New Year.

My second aunt tossed my mother three hundred yuan with an air of superiority.

“Sister-in-law, this is what our family of three will need for food and expenses during the half-month New Year holiday.”

My mother was so angry her eyes reddened, but my father just smiled and handed the money back to my second aunt.

“We’re family. Why give us money? Just like last year, relax and eat here with your big brother. You don’t have to lift a finger.”
