(The pace changes a lot early on, sometimes fast, sometimes slow. You can skip a few chapters, but read the earlier parts around Kaiser, or new characters might suddenly show up later and leave you confused. This story has original characters. Probably not many? I don't know. There might be more original plotlines later, too.)
