As immortal cultivation becomes standardized and legalized, the cultivation world enters an era in which everyone cultivates. Lin Yu, a young man with a mixed spiritual root, relies on his extraordinary perseverance to make it through the “nine years of compulsory education” at primary and intermediate cultivation academies. He graduates successfully, then eagerly attends the Ascension Assembly held by the Cultivation Alliance, hoping to enter the harsh world of cultivation ahead of schedule. Instead, Lin Yu is lured into a so-called legal sect.
Pointing excitedly at the wasteland before him, he says, “You call this a sect? Is this some kind of shell company? I can’t even see a single class spirit tree!”
The sect leader, Xiaoyaozi, coughs awkwardly. “Our sect used to be top-notch.”
Lin Yu feels deceived. Even the sect’s name sounds shady. He has never heard of the Cultivation Alliance recognizing a top-notch sect rank, but this place really is something else. Xiaoyaozi: “We encourage people to fall in love freely. Besides...”
With that, Xiaoyaozi points toward the little boys and girls digging for wild vegetables behind the mountain.
Lin Yu: “Why does this sect feel so completely off-brand?”
And so Lin Yu winds up on this pirate ship in a daze. No one could have guessed that, with one lucky opportunity after another, he would lead the Hehuan Sect into businesses like livestreaming and express delivery, then begin uncovering the truth about the world.
