Mom and me
My mother is a very ordinary woman who sells vegetables in the vegetable market. She is exposed to wind and rain, and her hands are as rough as old tree bark. When I was a child, I was very afraid of her coming to school, and I was afraid that my classmates would laugh at me for having a mother who sells vegetables.
There was a parent-teacher meeting at school that day, and I repeatedly told her not to come, but she still came, wearing old clothes that had been washed white, and her hair was messy in the wind. I was filled with embarrassment and stayed away. The eyes of my classmates were like needles, which made me feel uncomfortable. At the end of the parent-teacher meeting, I lost my temper at her: "Didn't I tell you not to come? Why are you so ignorant!" My mother was stunned, her lips moved but she didn't speak, her eyes were full of hurt.
I tossed and turned and couldn't sleep at night, so I quietly went to my parents' room and heard my mother crying softly: "I also want my child to have face, but there is nothing I can do." My father sighed: "The child is still young and not sensible, so don't take it to heart." At that moment, my heart felt like a heavy hammer, and I regretted it so much.
The next day, I got up early, walked to my mother, lowered my head and said, "Mom, I was wrong yesterday." My mother was stunned for a moment, then hugged me tightly and burst into tears. Since then, I often go to the vegetable market to help my mother, and I am no longer afraid of being laughed at. Because I know that although my mother is ordinary, she has given me the most selfless love.
