Good and evil, righteousness and wickedness, have never been easy to define. Just like the imperial court and the martial world, each contains the other, and the two are impossible to separate. There is no absolute justice in this world, nor absolute evil. There are only calculations of self-interest, and everything is done for gain.
Between people, and between the imperial court and the martial world, there is deception everywhere and cruelty at every turn. Family bonds, love, and friendship can all be betrayed at any moment, yet even amid such cruelty, warmth and humanity still exist.
In the martial world, strength is revered. But sometimes, even with overwhelming power, there are regrets one cannot escape and things one is powerless to change.
Of course, as one old hand in the martial world famously said: “The martial world isn’t about fighting and killing. It’s about human relationships and the ways of the world…”
