If You Won't Do the Job, Why Are You Charging Me Protection Money?

After transmigrating to Tazhai in 1980, Lin Zongjie, Dong Shu's cousin, decides he can't just stand by and do nothing. As it happens, he's planning to head south with his fellow soldiers who are retiring alongside him. He might as well take Dong Shu with them. When Lin Zongjie wakes up, he has become an officer among the first to take part in the Monkey War, but he has already been discharged. Seeing Jianjun and Jianguo beside him, he freezes. Could this be a Hong Kong crime-film universe? The only Young and Dangerous movie the author has seen is The Storm Riders: The Black Dragon, and even that was on TV. All he remembers is the ending, where a lackey stabs the protagonist to death. He hasn't seen the others, though he has come across a few clips on short-video platforms. There are so many films, and their timelines are all over the place, so don't look for logic here. Of course, the novel will be changed to fit the author's own setup, so please don't nitpick too much. Besides, the main focus is business, not the underworld.
