He Once Came Into My World

"Yueyue, wait for me to come back."

Xu Xinghe left me a silver ring. But when he returned, all I got was the sight of his clothes stained with blood as he smiled and told me that brief month had been the happiest time of his life.

After he was gone, he became the brightest star in the sky.

Bai Luoyu traveled a thousand miles to find me. He called me his "moonlight" and begged me to give him a chance. I agreed, but I was hiding a shocking secret: I was the eldest daughter of the Yan family, and getting close to him had started as nothing more than an act of spite.

My childhood sweetheart, Tang Ming, returned from abroad and gripped my hand, roaring, "Twenty-two years of love, and it still couldn't beat his one year?"

Lin Yu had silently protected me for ten years. From the day I saved him by the river, he had been my firmest support. In the end, he left me only a letter: I have no regrets about these ten years.

One would die for me, one would have his heart broken for me, and one would wait for me for ten years.

I asked him, "If you could live it all again, would you still choose me?"

He kissed me, his voice hoarse and burning with passion. "Yueyue, I've waited eight years for this day."

Every year on the anniversary of his death, beneath the Siamese mango tree, we open a bottle of Xinghe red wine and drink to the young man who loved me with his very life.

I gently stroked the baby in my womb and whispered, "Xinghe, in our next life, let me be the one who waits for you."

The wind passed, and the stars shimmered as if in reply: All right.
