I Became a Zombie on the First Day of the Apocalypse

I stand amid the ruins of this post-apocalyptic world, surrounded by a scene woven from deathly silence and despair. I've become a zombie, yet I still look human. More incredible still, human consciousness stubbornly pulses in my mind. I look at my hands, the same hands that once embraced my family and chased my dreams, like any ordinary person's. But now they've been stained by this world's decay and bloodshed.

I can hear the zombies' hollow howls, voices driven by instinct. Yet amid those sounds, I remain lucid, thinking. Can I still be called human? Is humanity defined by the body, or by this complex consciousness and emotion? But if I'm human, why does a power that doesn't belong to humankind surge within me, making countless others of my kind see me as an outsider?

I wander between the two, unable to find where I belong. I'm no longer purely human, yet I can't fit into the world of zombies either. Perhaps on this apocalyptic stage, I'm merely a being toyed with by fate, an undefinable "monster" exploring the meaning of my existence alone, on the boundary between life and death, humanity and beastliness.
