Looking back on her life, all she ever wanted was something small, yet fate dealt her a bitter hand.
In time, stories of Ning Hui, the illegitimate daughter of the Jing'an Marquis household, spread throughout Daqing. People argued over her, some praising her and others condemning her.
The hostage prince of Qi, who once leaned on her in the depths of the palace, became an absolute ruler, steeped in violence. The great general who had bound himself to her with a marriage contract ultimately died in battle, remembered for his loyalty through the ages.
Love, hatred, romance, and old grievances were finally laid to rest.
Love and hate cannot cancel each other out. A life shaped by schemes and betrayals, by the confusion and helplessness of loss as she faced the harshness of reality and the fickleness of people's hearts, would define Ning Hui from beginning to end.
Beneath the surface splendor lay filth, and right and wrong were hard to tell apart.
When the line between love and hate blurs, will she sink once more into the mire of fate, or break free?
Note: None of the characters, including the protagonist, are perfect.
[Traditional historical romance + love and hate + personal and national conflicts + devoted leads + bittersweet romance]
It's so sad. I finished reading it in the middle of the night. In the early stage, I simply thought it was like a normal long-running house fight. However, the more I read later, the more sad I became. Why can't the direction of the story be changed? Even the protagonist has no chance to choose his own destiny. The author's writing is super good. I highly recommend it!
It's good to be patient and read. I hope the author can update it quickly [Sending my heart] [Sending my heart]
