When writing this logical crime-solving novel, I first settled on the core premise of a discharged soldier as the protagonist. The aim was to weave his military background into the criminal investigation process, making the story more authentic and engaging.
In building the plot, I open with a gruesome crime scene to immediately grab readers' attention and create a tense atmosphere. Clues such as strange footprints at the scene and a distinctive necklace pendant gradually lead to the suspicious neighbor Wang Li and a mysterious visitor, Zhang Wei. Their questionable behavior, financial troubles, and personal conflicts make the case seem increasingly baffling and suspenseful. The arrival of the key witness, Xiao Ming, then becomes the turning point, connecting the scattered clues and pointing to a conspiracy between Wang Li and Zhang Wei. These twists keep readers engaged and immersed in the process of deduction and puzzle-solving as they follow the protagonist, Lin Yu, step by step toward the truth. The result is a tightly reasoned, eventful crime-solving story that portrays the struggle between justice and evil, along with the police officers' sense of duty to protect the peace.
