A Glimmer of Hope in the Apocalypse

(Apocalypse survival.)

When the helicopter arrived and the zombies caught up with everyone, Lin Xiao and Su Yi, the last survivors, finally made it aboard. The helicopter rose into the air as they reached out to protect the others and fight off the zombies. Gunshots rang out without stopping, but in the end they were still overwhelmed. The zombies lunged forward and grabbed the last person, Su Yi, by the ankle. One, then two, then three, dragging the rising helicopter off to one side.

After that, more and more zombies clung on. Su Yi kicked at them, but it was no use. Lin Xiao climbed down to help, but Su Yi shook his head to stop him.

“Lin Xiao, there’s something I have to say. I’m afraid I won’t get another chance. I’ve never dared tell you before: I love you. Not as a classmate or a friend, but as someone in love with you.”

Su Yi gave up hope of surviving and let go of Lin Xiao’s hand as a zombie climbed onto his shoulder.

“Don’t!”
