[Lighthearted Small-Scale Infinite Flow + Multiple Standalone Stories + Expanded Worldbuilding for the Temporal Management Bureau + Competition]
If you like watching Systems fight, come take a look.
It seems everyone bound to a System considers themselves the chosen child of destiny: the reborn turn their fate around, the conquest experts bewitch people's hearts, the sword cultivators sever karma, and the children of fortune stride on auspicious clouds.
They can all throw their weight around in their own little worlds.
“But have you ever wondered what would happen when these ‘chosen ones’ favored by Systems enter the same arena of slaughter, and their golden fingers turn on one another... Whose halo will hold out to the end?”
No one knows where Systems came from. Some say they're pawns in a game played by gods; others suspect they're experiments by a higher civilization. The only certainty is that every competition proxy chosen by a System for this arena, or “Host” as they call themselves, has signed the same contract and shares one goal:
“Win this contest, [Dawn After a Long Night].”
In this ultimate competition, which will determine the rankings of the major-domain gods, the “proxies” of the subsystems from every domain will enter the arena.
Those chosen to compete and make it to the final round must all have something special about them.
But strangely, in the final round's arena, the only rule left where the original rules had been overwritten was this one line:
“Whoever hasn't died is the protagonist.”
(Due to the word limit, see the first chapter for the full version.)
The first stage is about survival; the second is about uncovering the truth.
Those who awaken early are marked by the rules, while those who awaken late are betrayed by the truth. The only certainty is this:
“Every step will be a rung on the ladder to the truth. The one who survives to the end...”
