You throw a punch forward, while your counterpart in a parallel world swings a sword behind them.
The you in the first world might be an ordinary person, while the you in the other might be an immortal cultivator.
Let’s set aside whether this is fair, because the two sides don’t even have equal mass to begin with.
So where does the excess or missing part go?
The answer is that nothing is actually missing.
The world only ever expands. It never shrinks.
The things that seem to have been lost are actually new points of absorption.
For now, let’s call them “darkness.”
And between two intersecting worlds, this “darkness” exists. It not only links the two worlds, but also brings about different changes in each of them.
At the same time, let’s assume that worlds attract one another, and that this force of attraction also acts upon the “darkness.”
In other words, the two worlds connect at their boundary, the darkness, then spread outward, using the “darkness” as a new point of absorption.
“Darkness” is inherently unequal and incomplete, yet it also possesses a degree of truth.
Our story begins in the “darkness,” or, more accurately, in the “darkness” between countless interconnected worlds!
Of course, where there is creation, there is destruction. The myriad worlds survive and prey upon the outside through the “darkness,” but they will eventually perish within it, unable to transcend their dimensions because of their various properties.
And Records of Lingering Evil is the “final record,” formed from the only truths left behind by the worlds that perished in the darkness.
All right, I’m no good at writing introductions. Please move on to the main story.
