Beast Blood, Zen Heart

Just as Lu Zhishen attained Buddhahood and ascended after hearing the Qiantang River's tidal bore, an accident befell him. A mysterious otherworld was being invaded by the Yin and Yang universes. The sun and moon were collapsing, and heaven and earth were breaking apart. The laws of this realm called out to the myriad heavens for help. In the Buddhist realm, Lu Zhishen was chosen for his belief in upholding justice on heaven's behalf. Bearing a sacred mission from Buddhism, his soul transmigrated to the otherworld, where he was reborn as a shaman priest.

In this world, he was far from the only one spreading faith and proclaiming doctrine. Successors of the teachings of immortals, gods, demons, witches, and other faiths all descended upon the otherworld, bringing new doctrines that shattered faith and plunged it into division. The struggle for believers between the newly descended gods and the ancient sacrificial spirits grew ever more intense, with conflict on the verge of erupting.

At that time, the war between the Three Realms was locked in a fierce stalemate. The lingering souls of some great powers from the Three Realms' main battlefield secretly made their way here through energy channels, while raiding forces from the Yin and Yang realms launched surprise attacks like ghosts. This only made an already tangled situation even more chaotic, like a knot impossible to unravel. The mission Nuwa entrusted to Lu Zhishen became a heavy shackle amid the rivalries and suspicions of the many factions, trapping him in a mire of sectarian distrust. Every step forward was grueling, and his future was shrouded in dense fog, full of uncertainty and change.

In the otherworld, Lu Zhishen begins his journey of conquest with tremendous courage. He spreads Buddhist teachings, taking compassion and wisdom to heart, while upholding justice on heaven's behalf, fighting evil, and protecting peace. Amid relentless rivalry and exclusion, he commands beast companions and writes his own legendary tale.
