The Famine-Era Sweetheart Has a System

“A Si, are you feeling unwell again today?” Ziguan looked at Nangong Si's haggard face, his heart aching for him.

“Mm… The baby is being too fussy.”

The delicate little prince supported his heavy body and struggled out to rest in the courtyard. The peach blossoms had opened, and petals floated all over the garden, lifting his spirits. He'd been cooped up in his room so long that he was practically growing mold.

“Mother, we're back!” Liu Dongzhao came in with Dabao. Dabao held out the peach pastries they'd bought that day to Nangong Si, excitedly telling him about the fun things he'd done while out with Father.

“These are for my little brother. They're for Little Daddy.” Dabao gazed innocently at the little prince's round belly. Liu Dongzhao affectionately rubbed Dabao's head, his expression full of tenderness.

“How do you know your Little Daddy is carrying a boy? Would you care less if it's a girl?” Ziguan teased Dabao.

Dabao pouted. “A little brother can go to school with me, Erbao, and Sanbao. But I'd love a little sister too.” His little face turned red…

“Big Brother sent a letter yesterday. He's on his way back and will surely arrive before the baby is born.” Nangong Si stroked the child in his belly. He hadn't seen his elder brother in nearly half a year.

“It's been almost half a year since Axuan left. I wonder how things are going over there.” Ziguan missed Nangong Xuan a little too. That guy had been gone for so long without sending a single letter.

“Second Daddy is mean. I don't want to see him!” As soon as Dabao heard that Second Daddy was coming back, he took off running.

“You ungrateful thing! You can't see the person right in front of you, but all you do is think about someone else.” The proud little general Lu Yunshen had just walked in, and he was already accusing Ziguan of being a heartless flirt, his face full of displeasure.
