Siheyuan: The Yan Family's Second Son Makes a Comeback After Splitting the Family From the Start

He wakes up to find that he has transmigrated into 1965 as Yan Jiefang, the second son of Third Master from the courtyard compound.

Who would have thought that as soon as he transmigrated, Third Master would kick him out under the pretext of splitting up the family?

That leaves him the poorest and most miserable young man in the courtyard.

Laba Festival is approaching, the weather is freezing, and Yan Jiefang stands alone in the courtyard.

Nowhere to go?

With his forward-thinking ideas, how could he fail to get ahead in an era full of opportunity?

Demolition compensation, land and property, going into business... or, if all else fails, becoming a big shot isn't out of the question!

But he never expected Silly Zhu to take him in and pour him a drink.

That gives him an idea.

Yan Jiefang looks at Silly Zhu. “Brother Zhu, be my apprentice!”

Silly Zhu: …?

Before transmigrating, he was a master chef. He could whip up all eight great regional cuisines, and even state banquets required his personal touch!

“Comrade Yan, Number One wants to see you. I've been specially sent to invite you.”

A line of military vehicles pulls up outside the courtyard compound. Armed soldiers stand guard outside Yan Jiefang's room.

Third Master beats his chest in regret. “I shouldn't have done it!”

The whole courtyard: What an opportunity we let slip away!
