In a distant future, human society faces collapse. The catastrophic consequences of resource depletion, climate control, and over-reliance on technology are accumulating. In order to solve this problem, countries around the world have jointly established an organization called the "Legacy Project", which aims to select a group of humans with extremely high survival potential and special abilities to conduct the final "ultimate trial" to create the "last survivors." This trial has no rules. Participants will be transported to an isolated island where there are no human beings except mysterious creatures.
Each participant carries a special ability imparted by the estate plan. The island is not only full of unpredictable environmental changes, absurd competition for resources, and ferocious biological hunting, but also has ancient mysterious ruins and unknown powers waiting to be revealed.
The "Heritage Project" is a plan designed by a group of long-extinct ancient civilizations or scientists. Its goal is to transform the "essence" of human civilization-including thoughts, memories, and consciousness-into a more advanced form through a way that transcends matter. The core of this plan is not to extend life, but to liberate individual consciousness from the constraints of the material world, transform it into an existence that transcends body and time, and ultimately form a ubiquitous consciousness network. There is no independent individual in this consciousness network, and all thoughts and memories will converge into an eternal existence, but this eternity also means the disappearance of individuals and the loss of self-awareness.
