A History of Yanping Palace

[Court palace focus + ensemble cast + family growth + court politics + generational succession]

The later years of palace life, shaped by the ensemble cast's earlier lives.

A vast world, magnificent temples, and a witness to the rise and fall of dynasties. Some rise from humble beginnings; others come from generations of noble families. There are so many people in this world. The little people may not make it into the history books, but a few strokes of the brush preserve their mark.

A chronicle of the consorts' lives in the palace. Each individual's timeline begins no later than her entry into the palace and follows her through her entire life.

This is not based on historical records. It depicts an imagined dynasty.

The consorts live in the palace, and the influence they bring to their families is beyond imagination.

Thank you for reading.

Emperor Yanping can be seen as the fulcrum supporting this story. Every subplot takes place during the Yanping era.

This is truly a palace-centered story, with characters introduced in sequence but no hierarchy of importance. Emperor Yanping has no favorites at the beginning, and may not love anyone in the end, either. Emotions drive the story forward, layer by layer. There are no golden fingers, only choices shaped by each person's nature.

If women in ancient times could not escape marriage, then the way to build a career was to marry into the most powerful household.
