In the Name of the Witch

The Wu are the origin of all Chinese cultivation and fantasy tales. Their names are as ancient as time itself.

The Wu Ancestor awakens in Wu Pei, a direct descendant living four thousand years later. He climbs Mount Qingcheng and defeats the Daoists, whose legacy stretches back a thousand years; visits the Nine Star Palace, where Wu sorcery is used to read the stars and divine the nation's fate; explores the Dragon-Tiger secret realm and uncovers the great schism among the Wu; and travels to Penglai Island to slay the Japanese ghost sorcerer clan. In Genghis Khan's mausoleum, he discovers the origin of the gods. It turns out the gods are the Wu.

At an ancient Greek temple, Wu Pei is invited into the realm of the old gods to uncover the secrets of the Western deities. Hell and heaven are both secret realms, and creating a secret realm is the path to godhood.

Traveling through time and space, one can be a human, a slave, or one of the gods, but in the end, all are merely observers of the passage of time. The only thing one can truly understand is that human greed has remained unchanged for ten thousand years.

Tracing everything back to its source, the Wu family is the ultimate destination of all life.
