The Thorny Road of the Iris

In China during the 1950s and 1960s, a pure-hearted and kind young woman dreams of a bright future, but is deceived by a man’s sweet words. She follows him with a heart full of joy, never imagining that her decision will plunge her into an endless abyss: she has been tricked into the depths of a remote, isolated mountain region.

Faced with this sudden upheaval, she is filled with fear, confusion, and helplessness. The mountains’ isolation, the hardships of daily life, the local dialect she cannot understand, and the indifference of those around her all put her under unprecedented pressure. She tries to escape, but obstacle after obstacle blocks her way. She considers giving in, but her dignity and resilience keep her from bowing her head.

In the midst of her predicament, she gradually awakens to her own strength. With her intelligence and courage, she begins searching for a chance to escape the mountains. At the same time, her kindness and warmth touch the cold-hearted people around her, showing them the light of humanity.

This is a struggle for love, courage, and freedom. In the remote depths of these mountains, where will she end up? Will she continue to sink into darkness, or bravely pursue the light? Follow in her footsteps and witness this heart-stirring journey.
