[Quick transmigration, HE, Sheng-Dai CP, father and son, master and disciple, ensemble cast]
After Daiyu dies, she encounters a mysterious entity called the “System,” which offers to take her to another parallel world for a change of scenery. When she sees the Great Sage holding the Golden Cudgel and carrying a six-year-old Tang Sanzang, Daiyu realizes she has arrived in the world of Journey to the West.
The Great Sage tells Daiyu that he has two aims on this journey west: to escort Tang Sanzang on another quest for the scriptures, and to undergo a trial of love. Daiyu joins them on their journey, and the mysterious System finds three more companions for them: the captivating ancestor of generations to come, Qin Shi Huang Ying Zheng; Hu Hai, whose reign brought the Qin dynasty to its end; and Nezha, one of the Three Great Rebels. Once everyone has assembled, they set out on their journey to seek the scriptures and endure their trials.
But could someone tell her if her captivating ancestor really wants to eat Tang Sanzang? The six-year-old holy monk is still a little kid, but already full of mischief, causing trouble every day. What exactly is the Great Sage’s trial of love, and where is the trial? And Nezha, whose stubbornness couldn’t be overcome by ten oxen, is actually willing to bow his head to the Qin father and son?
They are seeking scriptures, but not the written kind anymore, because the scriptures are already in people’s hearts. What they seek are the unfulfilled wishes left behind.
So Journey to the West is also called The Story of the Stone, and the stone in her heart has always been the Great Sage.
So her captivating ancestor really is captivating. His integrity and broad chest are truly enough to win anyone over.
And the childlike holy monk, Hu Hai, and Nezha each have their own hardships. “Home” is that little bit of warmth at the center of their hearts.
