It is adapted from the original classical god and demon novel "Journey to the West", one of China's "Four Great Classics". The book tells the story of a Tang Dynasty mage who went to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures, and expresses the theme of punishing evil and promoting good. Monkey King, the great sage who was causing trouble in the Heavenly Palace, was guided by Guanyin and became a disciple of the eminent monk Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty. Together with Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing, he helped him embark on the long road to the West. Due to their different personalities, there was a lot of fun along the way. Although there were endless demons and ghosts along the way, thanks to the concerted efforts of the four masters and the apprentices and the generous help of gods and goddesses from all walks of life, life and death crises were avoided time and time again. After going through untold hardships that ordinary people could not imagine, Xuanzang and his party arrived in Tianzhu, and finally obtained the true scriptures and achieved enlightenment.
