The Five Elements’ Soul Lament

When chaos returns to the void, all things become the Dao. Yin and yang contend, and the Dao is born. Countless wondrous arts gather in one body, yet all is chaos, turning into illusion. What is chaos? At the beginning, chaos was merely a sphere filled with dense chaotic energy. After endless ages, some of this energy rose while some sank, forming two forces, yin and yang. They fought one another, each seeking to claim the entire Chaos Ruins. Their struggle consumed them both, weakening the chaotic energy until it ultimately divided into the five elemental forces. The energy lost in the battle transformed into life force, and so all living things came into being. A fragment of the divine consciousness at the source of each force broke away from its body and flew off, continuing their struggle until at last they agreed to a truce. The two divine consciousnesses called themselves the Yin and Yang Divine Lords. In every Hongmeng system and at the center of every universe, they erected divine pillars and immortal pillars, each consisting of one column and ten rings. Every thousand or ten thousand years, each pillar gives birth to ten evil gods or evil immortals. To utterly destroy the Yin and Yang Divine Lords and demolish the divine and immortal pillars, Tian Qian, young lord of the Heavenly Mandate clan, married Di Kun, holy maiden of the Earthly Numerology clan. They had a daughter named Ming Shu, and the two clans joined forces to conceal her from the workings of fate. She remained undiscovered until she broke through to the Chaos Realm. Thus began an ultimate battle that would last tens of thousands of years. By the end, the Yin and Yang Divine Lords had once again been weakened, while Ming Shu was defeated and gravely wounded. Yet a mysterious person rescued her, and together they sealed away the Yin and Yang Divine Lords, who then fell into a deep slumber. The mysterious person was gravely wounded in the battle, and Ming Shu died. Using the last of their power, the mysterious person created the Hongmeng Battlefield and the Void Battlefield, drawing in all the evil gods and evil immortals born from the divine and immortal pillars throughout the Chaos Ruins, so that those who came after could deal with them.
